Scientific Research & Experimental Development
Both the Federal and provincial governments offer substantial financial incentives to Canadian corporations that carry on Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR & ED). CCRA actually promotes this program to maximize the funding they can provide in this area because the government views this as an effective way to increase the competitiveness of the Canadian economy. The governments actually wants to give away substantial amounts of funding under this program.

Substantial amounts of product improvement can qualify and unlike a few years ago, a substantial percentage of accepted claims are made by software developers. We provide comprehensive services to assist businesses in identifying, quantifying and then claiming the benefits to which they are entitled from the income tax system.

We work with you to:

• Review your technical operations to assist in identifying eligible projects
• Assist in the preparation, or do the preparation, of the technical descriptions of the work done (necessary first step in preparing a claim)
• Capture all of the acceptable costs of the projects we identify as eligible
• Assist in preparing for a meeting with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Science advisors and auditors.
• Prepare federal and provincial tax forms
• Assist you to install a system to routinely capture costs of SR & ED projects.
• Assist your technical staff to understand the exercise of qualifying so that they develop a sensitivity to identifying eligible projects as they are underway
